VFX Artist (Unity)

Do you get inspired by creating impactful visual effects that elevate immersive experiences? At Flashgroup, you will design and implement high-quality VFX for VR training simulations, helping emergency scenarios feel realistic, dynamic, and visually compelling. 

What you will be doing

  • Creating real-time visual effects in Unity, including fire, smoke, explosions, particle systems, weather effects, and environmental interactions. 
  • Designing stylized and realistic VFX that support emergency response training environments. 
  • Optimizing effects for VR performance across multiple platforms (Quest, HTC, PCVR). 
  • Collaborating with developers, designers, and 3D artists to integrate effects seamlessly into scenes and gameplay. 
  • Building shaders, particle systems, and visual effect graphs to achieve advanced visuals. 
  • Ensuring visual consistency, polish, and readability throughout the simulation. 
  • Working with profiling tools to fine-tune effects for stability and efficiency. 
  • Documenting effect workflows, asset libraries, and best practices for the team. 
  • Staying up to date with VFX trends, Unity tools, and real-time rendering techniques. 

What we are looking for

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience creating real-time VFX in Unity. 
  • Strong proficiency with Unity’s particle systems, VFX Graph, and shader development. 
  • A solid understanding of visual composition, timing, color, and motion. 
  • Experience optimizing VFX for performance-sensitive environments. 
  • Ability to translate real-world phenomena into believable digital effects. 
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team. 
  • A strong portfolio showcasing VFX work (Unity preferred). 

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with VR or other performance-critical platforms. 
  • Knowledge of simulation VFX (fire, smoke, debris, dust, water). 
  • Familiarity with sculpting or texturing tools (Photoshop, Substance, Blender). 
  • Knowledge of graphics programming (HLSL, Cg, Shaderlab) 
  • Experience with lighting, rendering pipelines, or post-processing effects. 
  • Ability to develop small tools or scripts to support the VFX pipeline. 
  • Background in games, immersive media, or emergency response simulations.
