At Flashgroup, we are looking for a creative and motivated Junior Environmental Artist to strengthen our team. During this internship, you will be responsible for designing and creating impressive environments in Unity that take the visual experience of our projects to the next level. You will work closely with other team members to translate concepts into realistic and engaging 3D environments. With a strong focus on detail, aesthetics, and optimization for virtual reality, you will have the opportunity to develop your artistic skills and contribute to the storytelling of our simulations. If you have a passion for world-building and a desire to grow in a stimulating and innovative environment, then this role is perfect for you!

What will you do?

As a Junior Environmental Artist in Unity, you are responsible for designing and creating attractive 3D environments, working together with the team to deliver an immersive visual experience.

You offer Flashgroup:

  • Some experience with Unity3D, preferably gained through previous employers, internships, projects or personal development, with a basic understanding of the interface and its functionalities.

  • Basic skills in 3D modelling with tools such as Blender, Maya or 3ds Max, and experience creating assets for use in Unity.

  • Proficiency in the process of sketching, blocking out and creating moodboards, translating concept ideas into visually appealing and functional designs.

  • Basic knowledge of texturing and lighting in Unity, with a good eye for colour and detail to enhance the atmosphere of environments.

  • Proficiency in optimizing 3D models for VR experiences. This includes:

    • Reducing polycount without sacrificing quality.

    • Applying texture compression and texture atlases.

    • Optimizing shaders and minimizing draw calls.

  • The ability to come up with creative solutions for challenges in the design process and the skill to independently solve technical problems.

Good communication skills and a willingness to collaborate with other team members, receive feedback and exchange ideas.
